Hello and welcome to my blog!

Allow me to re-introduce myself, my name is Erica and I am a 30+ year old Black woman navigating North America, academia, and my feelings about it all. I originally started this blog as My Life in Ph.D. to share tips and experiences as a first generation Ph.D. student in Seattle, WA. But after taking a break from blogging I realized I have so much more I’d like to share and build community around.

So, I have switched things up a bit. I will still be sharing my tips and experiences as a Ph.D. student. I will also be sharing information about life in general, maybe some fashion and sustainability etc. I have a lot of feelings and interests as I’m sure you do, and I really love non-academic writing too. Let’s learn, let’s talk, and let’s continue to build community as we navigate the world around us.
